Resources for Entrepreneurs in Barcelona

A lot of foreigners that are residents in Barcelona, are entrepreneurs. Personally I don’t think this is a coincidence, but a result of a typical general profile of immigrants from first world countries. Most  of these immigrants are highly educated, restless, active people that like their freedom and with a thirst for adventure and meeting new people.

If you’re one of those kind of people that lives and works in Barcelona, Spain and you are about to start your own business, these might be the places for you to visit. I believe that foreigners should try to help each other to generate business and become successful.

PLACES FOR NETWORKING AND ADVICE

There are a lot of places and moments where you can network as a foreigner in Barcelona, whether to learn from others that have been working here for a longer time or in order to find possible new clients.  Here a list of the most know places I would recommend:

  • CINC = Centro Internacional de Negocios Cataluña
CINC offers a range of services for start-up companies like: fiscal-, legal- and administrative advice, you can rent professional spaces, attend workshops and training and much more.
  • GENCAT = Generalitat de Catalunya
Here the Catalan government will try to answer all your questions regarding starting your own business in Spain.
  • ACCIO
Here they try to give you as much information as well, but the focus a lot on the internationalization of Spanish businesses.
  • Barcelona Activa
  • Internations
InterNations helps expats to feel at home abroad, meet people and find information about their new environment: “Make life easier for expats!”
  • Biz Barcelona
The various networking activities available ensure that those attending can link up, establish new contacts, promote themselves or find new business opportunities.
  • The Business Lunch Barcelona
The aim is to bring together the English-speaking Barcelona and Madrid based business community and is an opportunity for you to network and promote your business with like-minded professionals in a relaxed environment.
  • Admirals Business Club
Their aim is to bring professionals, entrepreneurs and bigger companies together in the villages South of Barcelona.

There are many, but many more places you can go to. In Barcelona, if you would like to, you could go to networking breakfasts, lunches, dinners and after dinners.  There are also many virtual places to network on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.
