Marbella 4 Days Walking

On the 8, 9, 10 and 11th October I have been given the opportunity to participate in the famous “4 Days Walking” event.  The Marbella walk is an extension of the Dutch tradition where more than 40,000 people from all over the world gather to the town of Nijmegen in Holland, walking 20, 30 or 40 km for 4 days followed by music, food and drinks.  The Spanish version on the Costa Del Sol will discover the city of Marbella, beach and nature in the surrounding countryside with an expected 5000 entrants.

I am participating as a British expatriate having lived in the Southern Spain for 15 years and over the four days I will be promoting the Typical Non Spanish project to my fellow walkers.   On Saturday and Sunday, I will be joined by my wife Maria and two children Nico and Tommy (7 and 4 years old) for the special children´s day, walking 6 kilometers.

On a professional level I am very excited to be involved in this venture and personally I am looking forward to spending time with my family exploring unknown parts of Marbella.  The final day we will return on the Via Gladiolo by the harbour where we will be met by enthusiastic spectators, cheering us over the finishing line.
