It Could Be You – Manuel

Living in Madrid is living itself

My name is Manuel, I grew up in the west of France in a city called Challans. One of the most notable events in my region is Le Vendée Globe, the hardest and most famous sailing race in the world.

This week it’s going to be one year since I moved to Spain. The reason I came to Madrid was for a job opportunity, but is not actually my first time living here because I did an internship in Valencia before graduating.

Living in Madrid is living itself. I love going to the terrazas, sitting there with the sun and enjoying the best of a non-stressful city. This country is also really cheap if you compare it to Paris, and everything is open: you can always find a bar or a restaurant to drink coffee or a copa, and meet people from all over the world. My roommate is from England and I have many American and Latin American friends.

The only thing that’s missing for me is the French gastronomy, the croissant, the baguette, the wine and also the beaches, that’s why I think that my favorite Spanish city is Valencia, because it has the same vibe as the capital but near the ocean.
